“We want to show our community that we stand for justice, peace & equality! … I challenge us all to stand with the independents, and the small businesses that drive our local economies and communities.”

Ro Coit
Burn Rubber + Two18
Detroit, Michigan

Burn Rubber is more than just a sneaker boutique in Detroit. Since its acquisition in 2007, this modest shop’s community approach to retail has since made a longstanding impact to the culture of streetwear nationwide. Roland “Ro” Coit acquired Burn Rubber with a partner in 2007 and took over full ownership of the store in 2015. He has built a national reputation out of what began as just a small sneaker shop on the outskirts of Detroit. The shop was featured in a Forbes video series in December of 2019 and it told their story of working towards hard-earned success.

Ro plans to evolve the brand by engaging in new partnerships and activating resources geared towards art and design for exclusive collaborations and Burn Rubber-branded apparel.

He is currently opening a new storefront in downtown Detroit called Two18 and plans to open the doors in Fall 2021.
